At AstraZeneca, we are seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL), who will be responsible for providing high-quality medical and scientific expertise in the CVRM therapeutic area, through in-depth scientific discussions, exchange of clinical evidence, and the development of strategic relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a key scientific partner within the medical ecosystem, contributing to the understanding of emerging clinical trends, supporting strategic Medical Affairs initiatives, and strengthening the scientific positioning of our portfolio. We are looking for someone with strong intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, and a passion for science, capable of thriving in a highly collaborative environment focused on generating value for patients and the healthcare system.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and disseminate scientific and medical information in an objective, balanced manner aligned with local regulations and corporate policies.

  • Stay up to date in the therapeutic area, products, competitors, and relevant clinical trends.

  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), influence groups, and healthcare professionals.

  • Respond to non-promotional medical requests related to approved or investigational products, ensuring a scientific and ethical approach.

  • Facilitate continuing medical education events and actively participate in congresses and scientific meetings.

  • Contribute medical insights and field-identified needs to cross-functional teams (Medical, Marketing, Commercial, and Access).

  • Support pre-launch activities, scientific initiatives, and medical strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Participate in local/regional studies, externally sponsored research (ESR), and support clinical trial-related processes when required.

  • Identify and develop potential scientific speakers and support advisory boards and other Medical Affairs strategic activities.

  • Monitor medical environment trends and competitor activities to generate relevant business insights and recommendations.

Role Requirements

  • Degree in Medicine or Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemist).

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical research, or medical affairs-related roles.

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based medicine and understanding of the scientific and pharmaceutical commercial environment.

  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex scientific information effectively to healthcare professionals.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

  •  Strong self-management skills, organization, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Advanced English level (spoken and written).

  • Availability to travel and work flexible hours according to role requirements.

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project).

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Postgraduate studies or advanced training in science or clinical areas.

  • Academic or scientific research experience.

  • Specific knowledge in CVRM therapeutic areas.

  • Experience managing non-interventional studies and supporting clinical research.
