Test Manager – AI-Native Development - Evinova

About the Role

We are looking for a test manager with 6+ years of experience to join a full-stack engineering team building products that power clinical trials. This is an individual contribution role for managing the tests and quality validation of our Authoring product.

You will engage in all activities required to certify the quality of the product, and use AI tools as a force multiplier across the entire verification and validation workflow.

This is a building role. You will plan, implement, and maintain automated tests, and integrate AI capabilities into test automation. You will also help establish how our team works with AI: defining conventions for AI-assisted testing, prompt test automation patterns, and define quality gates for the product which includes AI-generated code, and integrated agentic AI.

The role is based in Barcelona, with an on-site commitment of three days a week.

What You Will Build

Automation Testing in a Dynamic environment

  • You will be collaborating with BA/Product/Design teams to understand requirements and their level of definition.
  • You will be responsible for writing, and quickly automating through AI, quality tests to match fully defined requirements which can also serve as a regulatory validation of a product in a clinical space.
  • You will be responsible to leverage AI to define quality gates for a product as it is being developed before fully defining functional requirements.
  • You will be testing using best practices.
  • You will be ensuring quality gates by working with engineers to verify they provide proper code coverage.
  • You will raise and escalate any issues/blockers in time to your lead.

AI-Native Development

  • Accelerate velocity by using AI testing assistants (Devin, or similar) as a daily part of your development workflow while maintaining test integrity and quality.
  • Help define with an evaluation team means of testing the deterministic paths of the product, surrounding the agentic AI paths.
  • Help evaluation team to develop tests as needed, and share prompt testing patterns, evaluation frameworks, and testing strategies for AI-integrated features.
  • Apply critical judgment to all AI-generated code. You are accountable for everything you commit, regardless of whether you or an AI tool wrote the first draft. As a tester, create a layer of manual tests for the purpose of validating AI-generated/powered tests have not drifted.
  • Contribute to the team’s evolving playbook for AI-assisted development, including when AI tools accelerate vs. when they introduce risk.
  • Collaborate with UI Design to verify AI-based flows in the product are clearly presented during the user experience and includes a human-in-the-loop to ratify the result.

Required Qualifications

  • Long history of enjoying the challenge of quality verification, and understanding quality verification processes.
  • 6+ years of professional software testing automation experience shipping production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Node.js, or similar) for the purpose of test automation.
  • Familiarity with regulated or compliance-sensitive software development environments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating agentic AI systems embedded in products.
  • Experience with clinical trial software, eCOA, or healthcare/life sciences technology.
  • Familiarity with GxP or SaMD validation processes.
  • Experience designing tests for complex projects within large organizations.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or visible technical thought leadership.
