As a key member of the RDU IT Data & AI team, the Senior Manager, Data Management will interact closely with IT business partners and business function leadership. This self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills will work to become a trusted partner across Alexion functions, ensuring effective and strategic use of data. Acting in a consultant capacity, this role involves partnering with global business stakeholders and Alexion IT management to manage data assets and optimize architecture. The individual will also understand cross-functional business processes and unique data demands, often participating in matrix teams for solution delivery involving data and platforms.

Accountabilities

The Senior Manager, Data Management will support IT and business-driven activities, including:

- Deploying and managing master and reference data and deploying information standards
- Providing IT leadership for implementing MDM solutions across different business functions
- Acting as system owner for MDM and RDM platforms for Alexion, AstraZeneca RDU, and leading operational support and development teams for existing solutions
- Collaborating with Metadata Management teams, Business Leads, and Information Architects to define data models, data quality rules, and governance standards
- Contributing to decision-making and evaluation of data and/or platform vendors
- Coordinating with internal delivery teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, tracking deliverables while ensuring compliance with quality and audit standards
- Supporting key data IT strategies such as Data Governance, Reference Data, Metadata, and Data Provisioning & Ops

Essential Skills/Experience

- 5 – 7 years of experience in the Technology industry
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical data like Customer and Vendor master – HCP/HCO, Product and Payer Master
- Strong experience in data warehousing and Master, Reference, and Metadata concepts
- Experience in deploying MDM solutions leveraging platforms like Veeva Network, Reltio or Informatica
- Exposure to semantic layer creation using RDM platforms like Semaphore
- Familiarity with profiling and metadata management platforms preferably Collibra

Desirable Skills/Experience

- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline
- Master’s degree preferred
- Excellent analytical and logical thinking
- Exposure to Integration and Data Engineering processes and concepts
