What will be your key responsibilities?

Reporting into Group financial controller, the Finance manager is responsible for acting as the interface between finance, commercial and AZ GFS (Global Financial Services of AstraZeneca) for all revenue accounting issues. Manages revenue and costs adjustments, recognition, and accounting.

The manager is also responsible for the creation, processing and audit-trail of revenue documents. The role will initially build and implement an interim process to recognize SaaS and other types of revenues and costs in line with the IFRS and will help to design and set up the new process within SAP mid-term.

The role offers the opportunity to build and lead the function going forward.

Typical accountabilities:

  • Ensuring Software, Hardware and professional services are properly accounted and recognised in line with Evinova’s Revenue Recognition Policy.
  • Lead month-end close process for a portfolio of studies and services, working with a team of international accountants within GFS. Complete reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules as needed.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements including trend and variance analysis.
    • Own the revenue accounting processes, including streamlining workflow and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
    • Increase efficiency and document complex accounting processes with clients, including internal processes and controls.
    • Work on other accounting /finance processes as directed by the group controller.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Essential for the role

  • Strong experience in revenue recognition accounting (10 years) with significant exposure to SaaS and Leasing accounting, especially in line with IFRS15 and IFRS16
  • Experience of accounting &/or controlling activities including: month-end close, reconciliations & variance analysis, financial controls, strong Excel skills
  • Experience of using Excel and multiple finance systems (incl. SAP, Salesforce.com) and working with interfaces between systems
  • Experience of working with colleagues inside & outside of finance
  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills, including oral & written English
  • University degree
  • Accounting qualification

Desirable

  • Project management and/or lean six sigma experience
  • Multinational business experience
