Director Study Leader, RTSM Specialist, Oncology R&D, Early Oncology Clinical

We are seeking a Director Study Leader RTSM Specialist in Early Oncology Clinical (EOC). This combined delivery and functional role is responsible for delivering multiple complex/novel studies and leading the EOC for RTSM delivery. The role requires a high degree of flexibility and autonomy and may involve program level responsibilities. You will also provide expert input to other non-drug programs and improvement projects.

Accountabilities
As a Director Study Leader, you will provide expert clinical operational input into project or study level documents, lead the delivery of clinical study(s) from concept to final CSR, and maintain oversight by close interaction with individual study leaders. You will also implement agreed study level process and technology for Early Oncology clinical studies, manage effective risk management/mitigation plans, and oversee CROs and other clinically outsourced third party vendors. As an RTSM specialist, you will act as a tactical and strategic partner to both study teams and GCS, lead process improvements in EOC in partnership with GCS, and facilitate knowledge between EOC and GCS with respect to the EOC portfolio.

Essential Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, preferably in medical or biological science.
• At least 10 years drug development experience demonstrated in a variety of roles.
• At least 5 years of experience in leading studies in clinical development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the clinical and pharmaceutical drug development process.
• Extensive and proven experience in driving operational delivery to timelines, cost and quality.
• Proven experience leading delivery through internal and external organizations.
• Project Management experience within the context of Clinical Drug Development.
• Experience and strength in working and leading in matrix teams.
• Strong collaborative communications skills including the ability to engage with a diverse client base and manage through conflict.
• Proven ability in problem solving and issues management that is solution focused.
• Ability/willingness to lead strategic and/or operational management of individual clinical trials should the need arise.
• RTSM set-up and management in multiple settings.
• Experience in providing clear requirements for external contracts.
• Experience in selection of external providers and development/review of contracts.
• Proven oversight of external providers.
• Understanding of early phase clinical delivery.
• Demonstrable ability to identify, lead and innovate on workstreams and initiatives to realise more efficient ways of working and reduce timelines.
• Be adept at influencing without authority and managing multiple stakeholders.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Higher degree e.g. PhD, MSc, MPhil.
• Programme management qualification (e.g. MBA, PRINCE2).
• Experience in variety of academic/CRO/Sponsor organisations and countries.
• Early oncology clinical delivery.
