Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Affairs,Oncology, EUCAN, the role will collaborate with global, regional, and market cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in strategy and executiontoestablishAstraZeneca as a trusted partner in improvingcanceroutcomes.You'lljoin a thriving Global Corporate Affairs function within the dynamic Europe and Canada region, covering more than thirty countries.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of policy and advocacy strategiesthat directly support AstraZeneca’s commercialobjectivesin keyOncology Business Unittherapy areas, ensuring market readinessandsuccessful launches.
Understand,shapeand advance an integratedoncologypolicy agendathat drives earlier diagnosis,access to innovative treatment, and integrated end-to-end care for patients.
Partner with global and regionalleadership and cross-functional teamstoembed policy and advocacyprioritiesinto therapy area and brand strategies,ensuring coordinatedexecution ofstrategicplansandconsistency, impact and alignment in campaigns and messaging across markets.
Providestrategic counsel,guidanceand supporttobusinessfranchises and to market teamsto align efforts with regional and global priorities while developing capability and driving performance across the region.
Build and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, patient advocacygroupsand multi-stakeholder coalitions to deliver sharedobjectives.
Lead and deliver priorityOncology Business Unitpolicy and advocacy communications, including thought leadership platforms, stakeholdermessagingand executive engagement materials, to influence healthcare debates and advance AstraZeneca strategicobjectives.
Support in strategic communications and advocacy around the Portugal hub launch.
Strategicpolicysupport to the Portuguese MC.
WhatYou’llBring
Extensiveexperience inpolicy and advocacy, or related fields, with aprovenrecord of deliveringimpactfulintegrated policy,advocacy, and communications strategiesatglobal,regionaland/or in-market settings.Strong knowledge of European and health policyenvuronmentsis a distinct advantage.
Proven leadership in matrixorganisations, with the ability to communicate with impact, influenceacross cross-functional teams, build consensus among diversestakeholdersand alignpriorities behind sharedobjectives.
Strong business acumen, withdemonstratedsuccessin connecting corporateaffairs objectivesto measurablebusiness outcomes.
Deep understanding ofhealthcareindustry, including market access, regulatory dynamics, and policy development.Therapy area experience inoncologyis a strong plus.
Proventrack recordinmanaging multiplecomplexprojectsand resourcesin fast-paced environments,delivering results under pressure.
International experience, with knowledge of and experience ofworking across geographic and cultural boundaries, includinghighly-developedcultural sensitivity andeffectiveness invirtual teams
Excellentcommunication skills,with fluencyin Englishand ideally at leastone majoradditionalEuropean language,including the ability to craft compelling narratives and influence at senior levels.
