About the role:

As a Key Account Partner, you will build and execute local business plans with your Sales Manager, engage healthcare professionals on approved indications and evidence, and lead initiatives that turn insights into measurable impact for patients and the business.

Key accountabilities:

  • Local market strategy: Identify opportunities and execute strategies that improve the local positioning of AstraZeneca’s Oncology products; co‑develop robust business plans with the Sales Manager to meet targets and accelerate appropriate adoption.
  • Stakeholder partnerships: Establish and maintain long‑term, collaborative partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem, co‑creating solutions with MDT and DMU stakeholders that optimize the patient journey and quality of care.
  • Clinical engagement: Lead evidence‑based dialogues with oncology HCPs on approved indications, efficacy and safety profiles, and treatment protocols to support on‑label prescribing for appropriate patients.
  • Omnichannel education: Use a strategic mix of approaches and channels to build knowledge of AstraZeneca’s Oncology value proposition, labelled indications and efficacy data among relevant stakeholders.
  • Patient journey optimization: Design and drive partner strategies that promote earlier diagnosis, streamline referrals and testing, and remove barriers to timely, high‑quality care.
  • Sales performance and forecasting: Deliver strong sales performance, ensure accurate forecasts that meet or exceed expectations, and manage assigned budgets responsibly.
  • Brand promotion with fair balance: Communicate brand benefits using fair‑balance messaging and approved promotional tools, aligned with regulations and internal policies.
  • Training and compliance: Complete all mandatory training, including product examinations; maintain full compliance with external regulations and AstraZeneca policies.
  • Ecosystem insight: Maintain granular knowledge of the local oncology ecosystem, including social and political dynamics and patient demographics, and translate insights into targeted account plans.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Engage field and office‑based colleagues (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs/MSLs, Diagnostics, Legal/Compliance) to align insights and leverage enterprise expertise for each account.
  • Tumor expertise and therapeutic bridging: Apply in‑depth tumor knowledge to bridge goals of therapy to modality choices (e.g., surgery, targeted therapy, radiation) across AstraZeneca and competitor options.
  • Problem solving and innovation: Analyze complex problems, identify key issues, and implement innovative solutions that improve diagnosis and treatment pathways.
  • Business acumen: Apply understanding of AstraZeneca’s objectives, strategy and value chain, external market dynamics, and financial drivers to guide account decisions.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Secondary care oncology sales experience with a strong foundation in account management.
  • Key account management experience engaging multidisciplinary stakeholders (e.g., MDTs, Pharmacy, Clinical/Medical Directors, hospital administration/committees).
  • Proven ability to engage and influence key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, including mid‑ and senior‑level HCPs, key accounts and the medical community.
  • Demonstrated success influencing multi‑stakeholder decision‑making and creating value within complex DMUs.
  • Proven ability to understand, synthesize and communicate scientific information and Health Economics and Outcomes (HEOR) data to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in omnichannel engagement, applied strategically and personally to account needs.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills to align insights and execute coordinated plans.
  • Strong analytical problem‑solving skills and sound decision‑making.
  • Patient‑centred mindset with deep understanding of the end‑to‑end patient journey.

Desirable qualifications and experience:

  • Established relationships with local oncology stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience designing or implementing earlier diagnosis initiatives and care pathway optimization projects.
