Accountabilities

Apply scientific knowledge and insights relevant to therapeutic areas, healthcare systems, products, disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape, integrated with knowledge of the regulatory environment, to create compelling medical content and communication.

Collaborate with MI&C staff and partners to implement scientific content strategy, and develop and distribute content to meet customer needs.

Support HCPs through delivery of high-quality, timely, customer-focused medical information.

Contribute to MI&C processes to drive operational excellence, efficiency, and digital innovation.

Scientific Content/Brand Partnership

Lead/Support the development, review and maintenance of scientific communication materials (e.g., MI requests, digital assets, Field Medical materials) in collaboration with MI&C team and Medical Affairs.

HCP Engagement

Create scientifically balanced responses to medical information inquiries from Health Care Providers to support the appropriate use of AstraZeneca products. Addressed brought up inquiries from local markets.

Identify, analyze and report trends and medical and scientific insights to collaborators to inform business strategy and scientific content and communication needs.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience (PharmD preferred, MD, PhD, or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant drug/medical information in pharmaceutical industry or comparable experience within the healthcare/clinical/hospital or medical communications environment
  • Clinical and healthcare systems expertise
  • Scientific literature evaluation and analysis
  • Scientific/medical writing, communication, and content creation (e.g., slide decks)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong business insight, project management, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in working with technology/platforms
  • Experience developing digital content and/or digital content strategy highly desired
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching team members (for Manager position)
  • Promotional review or medical review experience
  • Ability to apply local regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements to Medical Affairs activities and drug information delivery
