Job Title: Manager, Global Clinical Solutions

Accountabilities:

  • Service Delivery and Lifecycle Management: Coordinate and deliver Global Clinical Solutions services, owning lifecycle management and business continuity for projects, services and technology to minimize operational risk and enhance availability.
  • Expert User Support and Training: Provide expert support to user communities by conducting process/system/tool trainings, facilitating knowledge sharing, establishing guideline and ensuring clear communication with collaborators across GCS and AstraZeneca.
  • Process and Tool Analysis: Conduct critical analyses of processes and tools to define business usage, find opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and reduce business continuity risks; contribute to and develop cases for continuous improvement.
  • Lean Improvement Leadership: Lead or manage business improvement projects according to lean principles, including planning, prioritizing, implementing and tracking delivery to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Change Implementation: Support the implementation of changes that improve how functions and teams perform, ensuring adoption and sustained performance.
  • Program Performance Monitoring: Evaluate and monitor program performance and efficiency to keep implementation on target and inform corrective actions.
  • Culture and Capability Building: Train colleagues to use continuous improvement in new ways of working, embed a change culture and create learning opportunities that positively impact team performance.
  • Knowledge Management: Own knowledge management for continuous improvement activities and ensure findings are captured, shared and used to guide future selection and execution.
  • Domain Expertise: Act as a trusted source of knowledge in one or more GCS domains, shaping standards and guiding protocol.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Coordinates and delivers GCS services and coordinates life cycle management and business continuity for projects, services and technology
  • Provides expert support to user communities including conducting relevant process/system/tool trainings, facilitating knowledge sharing, establishing protocol and ensuring communication with relevant collaborators across GCS and AZ
  • Conducts critical analyses of processes and tools to define business usage and finds opportunities to improve efficiency/effectiveness of systems/services/processes whilst reducing business continuity risks; contributes to and/or develops cases for continuous improvement projects
  • Leads or manages business improvement projects according to lean principles, including planning, prioritizing, implementing and tracking delivery
  • Acts as a source of knowledge in one or more areas of GCS
  • Supports the implementation of changes to improve the way various functions and teams perform
  • Evaluates and monitors the performance and efficiency of programs to ensure that program implementation is on target
  • Responsible for training colleagues to use continuous improvement in the new ways of working and embed change culture
  • Grows capabilities, applies new approaches to improve work; and has positive impact on team performance creating learning opportunity for others
  • Responsible for knowledge management of continuous improvement activities and ensuring that the knowledge is used in the selection and execution of future activities

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Formal Lean or Six Sigma certification and experience applying lean tools to complex, cross-functional programs
  • Background in clinical development, clinical operations or clinical technology platforms, including lifecycle and business continuity planning
  • Proven change management experience (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR) and training design/delivery expertise
  • Strong collaborator management across global, matrixed teams with clear, outcome-focused communication
  • Experience building performance dashboards, indicators and benefits tracking to evidence value delivery
  • Knowledge management tooling and methods to curate, govern and reuse organizational learning
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and quality systems (e.g., GxP) and risk management practices
  • Ability to connect data, digital and process thinking to drive scalable, sustainable improvements
