Ready to develop renal care in Bangalore by turning compelling science into confident, on-label prescribing that improves patient outcomes? Do you see yourself orchestrating hospital participants to elevate standards of care while delivering ambitious sales goals?

As a Key Accounts Manager, you will own the local strategy for AstraZeneca’s Renal Care portfolio, translating evidence into value for patients, specialists, and hospital decision makers. You will work between scientific dialogue and commercial execution. You will develop durable relationships and ensure our medicines follow protocols and authorized product specifications. Your insights from the field will advise smarter plans and stronger launches, directly contributing to our growth and the quality of care across the region.

Accountabilities:

  • Account Strategy and Planning: Diagnose local market dynamics, prioritize high-impact accounts, and co-create a territory business plan with the Sales Manager to meet and exceed targets while optimizing budget deployment.

  • Find opportunities to improve the positioning of AZ’s Renal care solutions at the account level. Tailor value messages to local needs to support effective use and inclusion in relevant protocols and pathways.

  • Partner Engagement: Build long-term, trust-based relationships with Specialists, ER physicians, junior doctors, nurses, and hospital administrators; lead science-based discussions on approved indications, efficacy, and safety to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients.

  • Insight Generation and Sharing: Bring together actionable insights from MDTs and decision-making units; share internally to improve marketing, evidence generation, and sales execution.

  • Capability Building: Prioritize multidisciplinary workshops and coordinate speaker programs involving advocates and key opinion leaders. Actively support and train extended partners in hospital settings to improve understanding of AZ’s Renal Care value proposition.

  • Sales Delivery and Forecasting: Be responsible for the forecast and deliver sales goals within budget; deploy an appropriate mix of promotional tools with fair balance messages; ensure efficient, compliant use aligned with national/local guidelines and product licenses.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, medical, market access, and marketing to align tactics, remove barriers, and accelerate uptake across priority accounts.

  • Compliance and Learning: Complete all mandatory training and product examinations; follow all external regulations and internal policies, including AZ’s Code of Ethics, Global External Interactions and Privacy Standards, especially in interactions with patient groups.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • University Science graduate or equivalent experience, ideally complemented by an MBA from a reputable institute.

  • Proficient in oral and written communication (English).

  • Must have 3+ years of sales experience with Pharma sector in RENAL CARE domain.

  • Should have exhibited effective sales performance, collaboration across teams, and good business insight.

  • Organizational skills, good analytical skills / mind set, ability to handle complexity with a high degree of maturity.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Shown key account management experience in the hospital ecosystem, ideally within Bangalore or Karnataka.

  • Known to work influencing MDT and DMU decisions and securing protocol or formulary inclusion.

  • Track record of planning and completing KOL speaker programs, scientific workshops, and peer-to-peer education.

  • Proficiency with CRM and digital engagement tools, remote detailing, and data-driven territory planning.

  • Strong understanding of national renal care guidelines, treatment pathways, and hospital procurement processes.

  • Proficiency in a relevant local language in addition to English.

  • Experience launching or accelerating growth for new indications or brands in specialty care.
