ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose:

As a Diagnostics Science Liaison, you will Lead the design and execution of diagnostic strategies that enable timely, high-quality companion and complementary testing solutions for AstraZeneca’s oncology and/or Rare Disease portfolio. You will leverage deep scientific and clinical knowledge to establish robust testing capabilities, build long-term partnerships, and remove barriers across the diagnostic pathway so patients can be identified and treated optimally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement diagnostic strategies in alignment with global and brand plans.
  • Establish testing solutions, identify and partner with qualified laboratories, and ensure diagnostic quality assurance.
  • Build strategic relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), diagnostic companies, and healthcare providers to drive testing adoption.
  • Provide scientific and diagnostic insights to cross-functional teams and support market readiness for product launches.
  • Deliver internal training and external educational initiatives on diagnostics, biomarkers, and testing pathways.
  • Monitor diagnostic performance, address gaps, and propose continuous improvement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with AstraZeneca policies, local regulations, data privacy, and governance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with global, regional, and local teams to share best practices and implement innovative testing solutions.

Job Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific background (life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in diagnostics and/or specialty portfolio (e.g., Oncology, Hematology, Rare Disease, Metabolic Diseases) within a multinational pharmaceutical company.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management, account management, and project management.
  • Strong scientific background with the ability to discuss complex clinical and diagnostic topics with HCPs and KOLs.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Post-graduate degree in Biomedical science, Molecular Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Genetics, Molecular Diagnostics.
  • Experience working across clusters or regions and collaborating with global teams.
  • Knowledge of market-access processes and Pharmacoeconomics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional education initiatives and develop speaker/educational materials.
