What will you do:

The Medical Excellence and Market Access case Manager is an integral part of the Alpine Medical Affairs team within the CENE area, playing a vital role in managing Medical processes and the therapeutic area PNH. This position focuses on implementing effective medical strategies and innovative market access activities. The manager is responsible for planning and implementing medical and market access initiatives across the Alpine Region, supporting other functions, particularly therapeutic area teams. Additionally, the Medical Excellence and Market Access Manager serves as the key medical contact for partners, including healthcare professionals and social & health insurance.

Medical Responsibilities:

Reactive Medical Management for potential indications (depending on life cycle):

Approve Commercial materials.

Provide MAx support for negotiations.

Train commercial and sales teams on new data.

Provide medical information support.

Conduct occasional visits to healthcare professionals as necessary.

aHUS and PNH Local Registries:

Administer and follow up with centers and investigators.

Prepare reports for the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG).

Collaborate with the distributed team on the IPIG registry.

Maintain an overview of budget matters.

EAP/GATM Administrative Support and Reapprovals:

Oversee the entire process.

Provide training to the medical team.

Approve the resupply for EAPs/GATM.

PSP Oversight:

Manage administrative tasks and TPP oversight for multiple countries.

Gather insights and conduct budget overviews.

Medical Contracting:

Support the medical team in contracting processes.

Werbefachverantwortliche Person CH:

Act as the responsible person for advertising in Switzerland.

Medical Excellence:

Serve as the champion for medical compliance.

Report to global and regional teams.

Train medical associates on processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Support the medical team in processes such as TARC review.

Market Access Case Management Responsibilities:

Switzerland (CH): Case Management Leadership for KVV Art. 71 and Invalid Insurance:

Lead case management and negotiations with insurers for Art. 71 access.

Oversee claw-backs from health and invalid insurances in accordance with KVV Art. 71 and SL-reimbursement.

Coordinate with Finance to ensure appropriate accruals.

Austria (AT): Management of Claw-backs from DVSV:

Oversee and process claw-backs from DVSV as per existing agreements.

Collaborate with Finance to ensure proper accruals are conducted.

Prerequisites for the Role:

  • Advanced Degree or equivalent experience:MD, PharmD, or PhD in medical science.

  • Experience:At least 1-3 years in medical affairs; market access experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge:Solid background in related therapeutic areas, especially in rare disease settings.

  • Understanding of drug development and lifecycle management.

  • Familiarity with clinical development, including trials, registries, and real-world evidence (RWE).

  • Regulatory Insight:Knowledge of local pharmaceutical regulations such as pharmacodex.

  • Skills:

  • Ability to address challenges effectively in complex environments.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Language Proficiency:Fluency in English and German.

  • Strong interest in healthcare systems and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with budget and financial planning.

  • Previous experience in the rare disease field.

  • IT skills, including digital tool utilization.

  • Critical thinking and strong planning abilities.

  • Knowledge of the healthcare system in the Alpine region.

  • Additional language skills in French and Italian.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership and communication skills, capable of managing multiple complex processes across medical and market access domains. Familiarity with local and international medical compliance and financial management is essential.
