The AstraZeneca’s US BioPharma CVRM Primary Care Team plays a fundamental roletoensuring a comprehensive view of patient care and customer engagement within our Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Disease (CVRM) therapeutic area. AstraZeneca's strategy in CVRM focuses on ways to reduce morbidity,mortalityand organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across CV disease,diabetesand chronickidney-diseaseindications. The patient-centric approach is reinforced by science-led programs and technologies, including early research into regenerative methods. As aPharmaceutical Sales Specialist - CVRM Primary Care Team,you’llplay a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives!

Location:Athens, GA. Included areas:Hartwell, Commerce, Winder, Watkinsville, Snellville, Conyers

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop superior product and disease state knowledge and effectively educate and engage healthcare professionals in dialogue about clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing forappropriate patients.
  • Function independently with salesproficiencyto drive sales performance and ensure sales forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Successfully complete training requirements, including product examinations by developing andmaintainin-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care informationrelativeto your assigned sales territory.
  • Work with your District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop a local strategy and business plan to generate recognizable increasesofsales in your territory.
  • Capitalize on formulary approvals and other opportunities through effective implementation of the Strategic Targeting Plans by using a wide variety of promotional, personnel resources and analytical tools to enhance effectiveness in assigned sales territory, based on local assessment of customer needs.
  • Provide special education to healthcare providers throughappropriate programsthat fall within AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
  • Work with Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists around commonobjectivesto coordinate selling efforts.


Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 0 - 2+ years of demonstrated Sales or B2B, or Commercial experience
  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge of the medical, healthcare or pharmacy industry and skills in clinical; preferably within Cardiovascular, Renal or Metabolic Disease therapeutic areas
  • Prior sales experience
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision-making capability
  • Be results oriented withdemonstratedtime management skills
  • Ability to learn, analyze,understandand convey complex information

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $81,714 to $182,756. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
