Fund Manager-BD&Alliance-Shanghai

  DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES / 主 要 职 责

Market research and deal sourcing:

  • Follow market, technology and regulatory trends that shape healthcare industry (pharma, med-tech, healthcare service, etc.) development,  perform industry analysis to screen and identify investment opportunities
  • Participate in sourcing new investments including meeting with founders, entrepreneurs, potential co-investors, attending conferences, networking events

Deal execution:

  • Perform preliminary analysis of potential investment opportunities through industry and company research, industry expert interviews and meeting with prospective partners.
  • Assist in due diligence -  support the team across the various due diligence work streams (commercial, financial, legal, technology, etc.) on live transactions, support assess key investment merits and risks
  • Perform valuation analysis via business planning and financial modelling
  • Help prepare investment memorandums and presentation documents

Portfolio management:

  • Contribute to post-investment monitoring activities and interact with portfolio companies’ management teams

JOB REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES / 工作要求和胜任能力

Experience requirement:

  • Minimum Master’s degree from top university; Medical, life science or related discipline PHD is highly preferred (for R&D fund mgr)
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in related areas: 1) for R&D fund manager, research or R&D BD experience in pharm industry is required; 2) for commercial fund manager, investment banking, management consulting strategy or business development experience in pharmaceutical or medical device companies is required; private equity or venture capital investment experience highly preferred

  • Capability of performing in-depth industry analysis, company performance analysis and value creation drivers analysis
  • In-depth understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, accounting principles, and valuation; able to design, develop and integrate detailed financial models
  • Think logically and critically, and creative problem-solving ability

Collaboration & relationship building

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to articulate and present facts, ideas, recommendations effectively (both verbally and in writing) with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with vendors, industry experts, financial sponsors and company management team

  • Self-motivating, entrepreneurial
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

Language:

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal
