You'll be responsible for leading sales and marketing for a franchise/portfolio within the Rare Disease Unit (RD) for Malaysia to drive optimal outcomes for patients who can benefit from our innovative medicines and to establish AZ as a global leader in the therapy area. You will drive this through competitive performance, astute financial P&L management, cohesive global and local cross-functional working, while reinforcing the AZ values and behaviours. You'll ensure commercial activities within the market are compliant and aligned with global strategies. Additionally, you will be required to develop patient access strategy across RD portfolios.
What you’ll do
- Sets the vision and defines the franchise/portfolio strategy in alignment with the RD function
- Leads and develops the sales and marketing teams including but not limited to business performance, talent management and career development.
- Lead and develop market and patient access strategies that are appropriate to the brand life cycle and that maximize patient access to AZ medicines, e.g. alternative funding in private sector, innovative funding to Ministry of Health.
- Coordinates cross-functional therapy area and brand-level operational plans. Leads activities across brands, including the definition, design, execution and measurement of all marketing strategies and tactics to deliver on the brands’ objectives.
- Leads new product development and commercialization of new innovative molecules
- Leads innovation, expansion and partnerships in the broad healthcare ecosystem in which the RD operates which address unmet patient and customer needs.
- Responsible for sales execution within the franchise/portfolio
- Responsible for budgetary compliance
- Accountable for compliance of franchise team
Essential for the role
- You should have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 5 years of sales management/marketing experience in pharmaceutical industry
- Minimum 3 years of line management experience in pharmaceutical industry including in the areas of leadership (ideally in leading managers), personnel development and team development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead medium-large teams
- Comprehensive understanding of the development and commercialization of pharmaceutical products and healthcare environment within the market
- Experience in successful product launches with hands on exposure to early patient access, affordability and market shaping initiatives
- Experience leading cross-function collaboration esp. with Medical Affairs, Market Access
- Consistently driven results that outperform the market by driving strategic, financial and people performance
- Led critical changes on business new model, organization new structure, company culture etc.
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Adapt quickly and flexible in a dynamic learning environment.
