AstraZeneca’s vision in Oncology is to help patients by redefining the cancer-treatment paradigm, with the aim of bringing six new cancer medicines to patients between 2013 and 2020. A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on four disease areas - breast, ovarian, lung and hematological cancers. As well as other tumor types, these are being targeted through five key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, HER2 and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Diagnostics Excellence to join our Oncology Global Diagnostics Team.  This role reports to the Head of Strategic Marketing and Market Access, Global Oncology Diagnostics.  

The Senior Manager will partner with markets globally to on key above brand/cross portfolio projects focused on Diagnostics Commercial Excellence capabilities and operations.

Some of the projects this role will be responsible for are:

  • Above franchise/cross portfolio projects like Global Diagnostics participation at Tier 1 congresses, Internal Townhalls and Internal Summits.
  • Development of key above franchise/cross portfolio marketing collateral related to Policy, Patient Advocacy and Market Access.
  • Responsible for the successful rollout and implementation of Commercial Diagnostics Marketing Excellence in collaboration with the Head of Strategic Marketing and Market Access.
  • VeevaDx CRM analysis, system updates, market implementation and ongoing data collection
  • Regular updates and enhancements to the Diagnostics Academy in partnership with Oncology Training and Development
  • Oncology Diagnostics Project Management including the management of the GDx Scorecard delivery

This individual will work closely with Senior Leadership and critical business functional areas to ensure successful design and delivery of the project within schedule and budget

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required, advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA) is preferred
  • At least 7+ years total of pharmaceutical or relevant medical/clinical experience minimum.
  • Global and country level oncology diagnostics experience is required.
  • Understanding of drug development and commercialization processes including understanding of outcomes research /payer access issues
  • Track record of successfully developing and executing commercial / Dx Plans both in terms of Strategic development, tactical implementation and effective in-market partnerships and external expert engagements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and products simultaneously to ensure timely, on-target and within budget accomplishment of tasks
  • Leadership and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong strategic thinking and highly collaborative workstyle
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including development, marketing, medical, market access and alliance partners
  • Good communication and presentation skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and products simultaneously to ensure timely, on-target and within budget accomplishment of tasks
