The role

In Romania we are currently looking for a mature finance professional providing specialist finance expertise to the local organisation in the role of Finance Controller.

The role's key purpose is to ensure that statutory reporting requirements and local tax requirements are fully in line with the local legal requirements (GAAP and tax legislation) and company's accounting principles and standards. It reports to local CFO with a dotted line accountability to Regional finance controlling lead.

Responsibilities cover:

  • Support the market commercial organization risk management from local statutory or tax perspective,  providing value added recommendation grounded in comprehensive assessment of implications;

  • Assure accurate and up-to-date finance controls framework for the Romanian organization, certifying adequate controls are in place and operational to mitigate the commercial risks;

  • Local project management deployment of global/regional projects, ensuring processes and systems are fully functional;

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of 3rd party transactional finance providers and statutory/tax service provider;

  • Support working capital management and improvement of DSO and DPO at market level.

The profile:

  • Typically 5 to 10 years of relevant experience covering as many of the role's functional areas;

  • Solid knowledge of Romanian GAAP and  tax requirements. Finance transformation / finance project experience would be appreciated;

  • Autonomy and learning agility;

  • Ability to work in matrix, international organisation, in a highly outsourced working environment;

  • Good communication/interpersonal and stakeholder management skills;

  • Curiosity and active interest in process improvement;

  • Very good English.
